Special article in this issue features not only the great food but the great design of this happening Cherry Creek restaurant. Yes, I did eat the tuna after I photographed it.
You can see more photos of the restaurant here.
I had the opportunity to tour this terrific building with the principal architect, Ron Izzo of RNL, before it was open to the public. (The Denver Architectural Foundation sponsors monthly tours of new Denver buildings each month. Check them out!) This gave me some unique insights into the design when I came back to photograph it for the article. Thanks Ron!
The 5280 House by Studio Completiva is now the home of Mile Hi Modern real estate broker, Peter Blank. It's a beautiful space and was a joy to photograph with wonderful natural light throughout.
Jonas DiCaprio of Design Platform remodels this already fantastic mid-century home and makes it so much better!
Fantastic indoor-outdoor flow in this tasteful update to a classic Mid-Century home. I felt like I was back in southern California!
I enjoyed getting to know the owners of this home, Laura and Eric Krudener. Great people and a fantastic house! Due in no small part by all of Laura's wonderful art throughout their home. I also got a chance to visit her studio in the cool RiNo arts district. A very talented artist indeed.
You can see more of her work at laurakrudener.com.
I love Eichler houses! Especially ones like these that have been well cared for. Some had been restored to original condition, others took a more modern approach to remodeling... all great.
Early in 2011 I went on a tour of these homes in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles. Later I was talking with William Logan, publisher of Modern In Denver, on story ideas and this is what formulated. It was especially exciting for me since one of my favorite architectural photographers, Ernie Braun, did all of the fun Eichler advertisements. You can learn more about him here.
